Book Camp is an online summer program to help diverse female, women-identified and nonbinary people in the teaching professions, both in and out of school environments, empower themselves to do the important writing they long to do - writing that serves the world and leaves a lasting legacy of joy and justice.
Do you have an idea for a book or major writing project? Would you want help in managing your writing schedule? Have you ever wanted to be part a kind and creative community? Is it time for you to get the support you crave for your writing? If so, then Book Camp is for you.
How does Book Camp work?
2 Individual Coaching Sessions I will meet with you individually on Zoom for an hour once in June and once in July at a time that’s convenient for you - so we can create a game plan for your writing. I will help you focus on the structure, theme, and purpose of your project so you can be clear about how to move forward.
16 Collective Writing Sessions Each week on Mondays through Thursdays from 11-12 ET, we will meet as a group on Zoom to write together. We will start with a brief centering meditation and then dive in. If you’ve never written with a group before, you’ll be amazed at how the supportive presence of people from around the world will motivate you.
8 Group Classes On Mondays and Thursdays from 12-12:30 ET, we will meet together on Zoom for a group class that will focus on strategies that will help you be successful with your writing project. I will teach you concrete ways to break through the fog and reenergize yourself to keep going to the finish line:
June 21-24 Form is Beauty | Structuring your project by balancing internal logic and external ease
June 28-July 1 Elephant Bites | Making progress bite by bite with realistic and manageable targets
July 5-8 Independence Intersession | No formal classes - optional writing sessions 11-12:30 each day
July 12-15 The Middle Way | Using mindfulness principles to maintain momentum
July 19-22 Good is Done | Gracefully getting it done, calm closure, and satisfying submissions
