It may surprise you, but one of the hardest things to do is to send your writing out into the world for publication.
After years of dreaming, researching, writing, and revising, why would this be difficult?
Is it because we are afraid of rejection? Actually, no.
We are afraid of submitting our writing because it means we need to move on and become someone else.
We invest a great deal of our identities into our work.
You are not your work.
If you were a mail carrier or a garbage collector, would you be your work?
Think about this.
Your work is not you.
Your work is a service to the world.
Your work is something you do.
Your assignment this week: choose one thing to submit for publication and journal about how sharing it with the world is a service to others and allows you to move on and evolve to the next stage of your life.
