You may have had the experience where you read something and the truth of it rang out to you like a clarion call. It made you want to work better. It made you want to be a better person.
And then you finished the book and looked up and thought, “Who, me? Not me!”
We have a cultural script that says certain people are great and others are mediocre. If we are struggling, it’s easier to believe that we are mediocre.
This is a lie. Not only is it a lie that you are mediocre, it is also a lie that certain people are great and others are not.
Society perpetuates this lie because it helps keep the system of inequality in place. It also helps uphold an economic system that says if you buy certain things, then your worth will be greater.
Let’s return to that book that allowed you to touch a sense of truth. Take a moment and close your eyes and remember what this encounter with truth feels like.
Then think of a doubt you have about yourself. Compare how this feels to the feeling of truth. Feel the difference?
There is no such thing as a true story that keeps you from your destiny.
This week, live in the truth of your greatness. Live with truth as a clock that says, “The time is now. Go.” Live in the story of your destiny. Go.
